For the first time, the Thunderbird School of Global Management will dabble in undergraduate business education. Beginning in the fall of 2015, the school will offer a bachelors in its global management degree program.The announcement comes on the heels of the school being acquired by Arizona State University in December. Courses will be offered for undergraduate students at Arizona State University’s west campus, which is about three miles from Thunderbird’s campus.According to Allen Morrison, who began as director of Thunderbird in January, many of the details of the program will be hashed out throughout the spring and summer. Nevertheless, in typical Thunderbird fashion, the program will have a heavy international focus.A FULLY IMME RSIVE PROGRAMThe program will be built around four different language focus areas. Students can choose to focus on English, Spanish, Arabic or Chinese-Mandarin. â€Å"We are still in the finalizing stages, but we know we will be partnering with a major institution in China that will work on an exchange basis with ASU faculty,† Morrison says.The idea is to fully immerse students in one of the languages and cultures that they choose. â€Å"We are really drawing on students from all over the world,† Morrison says. â€Å"We anticipate about about half of the students will come from outside of the U.S.†Once accepted into the program, students will arrive on Thunderbird’s campus for a pre-program boot camp. Students will be fully immersed in the speed and culture of the program. The first two years in the four-year degree program will focus on general education courses.â€Å"They will be general education courses but will also have a heavy dose of language and culture with high experiential learning opportunities,† Morrison says. â€Å"The common courses and activities will revolve around the culture and language that those students will be immersed in at the end of their degrees.A TIGHT-NIT COHORT AND BENCHMARK PROGRAMThe business coursework comes during the third year.â€Å"By the time they are juniors, they will be doing heavy work in the topic of global management, Morrison says. â€Å"This will be global business subjects, and business studies specific to their culture that will look into how business effects geopolitical issues or how the cultural language setting can affect business in that area.†Faculty from the broader Arizona State University will help in language and culture-specific courses. They will also help by instructing students on sustainable business practices in the different cultures.In the final year, students are required to complete an international internship and senior capstone project. â€Å"Th ere is really a beautiful and welcoming facility and faculty at ASU West,† Morrison says. â€Å"We are striving to create a close and tight-knit community. We want to be very student friendly, especially students coming in from overseas. In English, it is very common for the same word to be used as both noun and verb. For example, the verb trust can also be a noun, as can the verb help. But, except with infinitives, the relationship between verb and noun isnt as straightforward. The noun form for help is ayuda, which is very close to the verb, ayudar. The same is true of trabajo (job or work as a noun) and trabajar (verb). But in the case of trust, the forms are confiar (verb) and confianza (noun). About the best that can be said is that its extremely common for nouns and verbs to share the same stem. Sometimes, as in the examples of trabajo and ayuda, the noun is made up basically of the stem with an ending that marks it as a noun (its probably just coincidence that trabajo and ayuda also have the form of a conjugated verb), while in other cases the stem is followed by a suffix, as in the case of confianza. (-Anza is a not-so-common noun suffix; the related verb is confiar means to trust.) In other words, the nouns related to verbs seem arbitrary. Here are just a few examples of some noun forms of common verbs: cantar (to sing) - el canto (song, the act of singing)decir (to say) - el dicho (saying)estar (to be) - el estado (state of being)hablar (to speak) - el habla (speech)perder (to lose) - la pà ©rdida (loss)preferir (to prefer) - la preferencia (preference)sentir (to feel) - el sentimiento (feeling)tener (to have) - la tenencia (possession)ver (to look) - la vista (vision, view) Good luck finding much of a pattern there! Clearly, there are some nouns that are derived from past participles, but its still unpredictable whether the participle will be modified (as in pà ©rdida) or which gender it will be. Keep in mind also that many Spanish infinitives can function as nouns, and some of them quite commonly so. For example, the verb poder (to be able) can be used as a noun to mean power, and saber (to know) can be used as a noun to mean knowledge. As you continue to use the language, youll learn the nouns on their own and youll no longer have to predict what they might be. Also, if you come across an unfamiliar noun (or verb), you may be able to guess its meaning if you know the related word.

She dismantled the decentralized structure of HP and introduced a more modern concept of structuring the organization in which HP was to operate with a front-back approach in which back-end unit was to deal with manufacturing while the front-end dealt with sales, marketing and customers.
